F Visa - Students
“We are a Nation of Immigrants.” The best of the best. The brightest of the brightest. How do we nurture them? In part, we allow them to study here. The F Visa is about academic studies. If you are here for a recreational course or for vocational training like how to fix an A/C, the F Visa is not for you.
The point of the F Visa is to give you access to our incredible academic institutions. Whether your second degree cousin, Guinnes, from Ireland wants to come here for a college degree, high school, private elementary school, seminary, conservatory, a language training program, this Visa is for him.
F-1. Academic or language students.
F-2. Spouses and children of F-1 visa holders.
Who says that we are an intolerant nation? If your home country recognizes your marriage (irrespective of gender), we do too! That means if you received an acceptance letter from Harvard and want to your bring spouse of the same sex, the U.S. will recognize your union. Your spouse can qualify as a benefactor of your student visa.
F-3. Citizens or residents of Mexico or Canada commuting to the U.S. to attend an academic school.
